Mark Hiles Landscape Workshop

Enjoy a day of landscape painting with Mark Hiles.  Working from a reference, many aspects of watercolor landscape painting will be discussed including color, composition, shapes, atmosphere and light as they relate to the scene being painted.  Also, the workshop will include ideas and disciplines of landscape painting specifically and watercolor painting which Mark uses in all of his paintings.

Mark is a noted watercolorist who studied under Fritz Briggs at the Schuler School of Fine Art.  He is a member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and an instructor at the Zoll Studio of Art.

A recommended supply list is watercolor paper, paints, paper towels, masking tape, pencil and brushes.  A reference photo will be provided or you can bring your own.

  • Member registration begins August 1st
  • Non-Member registration begins September 1st
  • Registration is open through October 3, unless it fills sooner.

75% refund if notified no later than October 3rd. Refunds for later cancellations are subject to availability of a substitute participant.

Location:  Howard Co Center for the Arts
Directions: Take I-70 W from 695 W.  At exit 87B take ramp right and follow signs for US-29 N.  Turn right on Rogers Ave, at roundabout take 1st exit. Turn left onto High Ridge Rd. HCAC is on left.

Coffee will be served, please pack a lunch.
